Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Immaculate Conception Academy. Eighth grade is the culmination of 9 years of preparation for high school. It is a year of high expectations, excitement for the future and memories as students all move off in different directions.
School begins with homeroom and then students travel from classroom to classroom and teacher to teacher. Classes included are: Religion, Literature. Language Arts, U.S. History,Math, Physical Science, Ukrainian, Computer,Spanish, Art, Physical Education and Choir.
I am Mrs. Judith Hicks and I am the eighth grade homeroom and U.S. History teacher, as well as the Academy math and science teacher. This will be my sixth year at IC, and I can't wait to get started. I was blessed to spend last year with my new eighth graders, and I am well aware of what a special group of students and parents you are.
When the 2015/16 school year ended, all of the Specials teachers were planning to return for 2016/17 There may have been some changes made, so I will be updating the the following list as soon as I know of them.
I will update the teacher list and post a copy of the daily/weekly class schedule as soon as it is available. The supplies list was posted at the end of the school year and can be accessed through the menu on the left. Please remember that supplies are be refilled throughout the year :)
Eighth Grade is a very exciting and challenging time for students, parents, and yes, teachers. Eighth graders will be playing a leadership role in the school from the very first day at The Ringing of the Bells, until they graduate and then say goodbye at their farewell party. I will do my very best to keep all of you updated on any information you may need regarding classes, special days, play practices, classroom policies, news, schedule changes, etc. Please try to keep me informed as well. (Especially any health concerns, allergies, accommodation plans, academic concerns or family changes/situations) My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. I will be checking it periodically during the summer, and then every school day.
Here's to a great new year! (I can't wait to see the St. Nicholas play.)
Please remember to check the Class Announcements section regularly
